During Apple’s WWDC  Steve Jobs stated that iOS 5 had 200 new features. We have been looking up for those features. The main updates have already been explained in the previous posts. I am now going to tell you other features on iOS 5.

Apple has introduced a new feature for keyboard on iOS 5 devices, that is Shortcuts. That allows you to create your own shortcut key for the keyboard in iOS 5. This is feature is already available for jailbreak users, the jailbreak app ‘Xpandr’ allows you to do the same.

As the name suggests, Shortcuts allows you to create your own shortcuts. For example, if you’re always typing “Talk to you later” in your emails or text messages, you can create a shortcut for “ttyl”, and every time you type these 4 letters together, it will automatically insert the full “Talk to you later” phrase.

Along with this, there is a new feature on keyboard for iPad users. The ‘Split Keyboard’. iOS 5 allows you to split your keyboard into two, thus making it easier for you to type on you iPad in landscape as well as portrait mode.
